Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda takes GenerationNext Campaign to Bassa and Jos North LGAs: promises to deploy technology in tackling security challenges .
Thursday 7th and Friday 8th April, 2022 were eventful days to the good people of Bassa and Jos North LGAs as the Captain of the Generation-Next Movement visited the two LGAs, along with the Generation-Next Campaign Train.
Receiving the Generation-Next Captain and his respectable supporters in Bassa, the Executive Chairman of Bassa LGC, Engr. Stephen Andy Igmala expressed his most sincere gratitude for having the popular and leading APC governorship hopeful visit him and his people.
After pleasantries were exchanged, Dr Nentawe led the people to observe a minute’s silence in honour of the victims of the recent attacks. He prayed for the repose of the souls of all indigenes of Plateau and Nigeria that were unjustly killed, and prayed for permanent peace to prevail on the Plateau and in Nigeria at large.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that turned out to receive him and his team, including delegates, party Exco and stakeholders, Dr Nentawe expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Chairman, the traditional rulers and the good people of Bassa LGA over the recent spate of killings in their land. He described the situation as dastardly, condemnable and inhuman, but encouraged the people to never despair in the face of their trial as “good will always triumph over evil”.speaking on his gubernatorial ambition, the Digital Systems Guru explained to the people how his 5-Point agenda will utilize cutting edge technology to end insecurity and turn the fortune of the state and its indigenes for the better. He posited that “Statistics have clearly shown that there is a prevalence of high rate of poverty among nations with insecurity. Therefore, we cannot continue to use 20th century solutions to solve 21st century problems. As crimes advanced, we need to advance too. We need to capitalize on the various technologies at our disposals to secure our state and our people. We have helped many nations achieve that and we can do that for our state, if we are given the opportunity in 2023.”
In concluding his speech, the governorship hopeful felicitated with his friend, the Executive Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Engr. Stephen Andy Igmala as he turned a year older on the same day. He wished the chairman sound health and more wisdom to deliver on all his campaign promises and lead the LGA to an enviable height.
Generation-Next campaign train then moved to Jos North LGA where they were warmly received by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Shehu Bala Usman and yet another crowd of party faithful and supporters of Dr Nentawe Yilwada.
Hon Alh. Sani Gangare, the APC Chairman of Jos North LGA, who could not hide his joy as he made the crowd know that since they heard about the pedigree and gentle personality of Dr Nentawe, they had always prayed and looked forward to the time they would receive and interact with him in person.
The indefatigable gubernatorial aspirant thanked the people of Jos North for coming out en mass to welcome him and his Team. He made his manifesto known and enjoined the people to embrace peace and live together in unity irrespective of their ethnic and religious sentiments. He assured them that his government will carry everybody along without discrimination based on ethnicity or religion
Mrs Ruth Izam, the APC Women Leader of Jos North LGA, said the women of the LGA are impressed with the aspirant’s unique leadership style and assured him of their support in the 2023 governorship election. However, she called on the gubernatorial hopeful to remember the 35% women affirmative action in his government when he becomes the next governor of the state.
Climax of the event witnessed the presentation of gifts to Dr Nentawe by a support group called, “New Progressive youths”.
Before departing, Dr. Nentawe briefly paid an unscheduled visit to Gidan Bege Orphanage where he encouraged both staff and orphaned children to uphold the tenets of humanity. He assured them of his continuous support and prayers.
