Several people are feared killed with others injured in a huge explosion in the Sabon Gari area of Kano State.
The incident which has been described as devastating was said to have occurred at about 9am, near a primary school along Court Road by Aba Road, with many children affected.The Kano State Police Command has attributed the incident which occurred at Aba by Court road in Sabon Gari, Fagge Local Government Area of Kano to gas explosion.Four residents reportedly lost their lives in the incident which happened on Tuesday morning.
According to Kano Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, four people have so far been discovered dead while security personnel are trying to find the remaining victims of the incident.
“It is not bomb explosion; it’s a gas cylinder. There’s a gas welder here and he was the first victim of the situation.”
“As at now, one female and three males have been killed. All the security agencies are here. The Civil Defence, Brigade commander, Air force, myself and the director, DSS, are all on ground.
“We will extend our investigation and at the end of the day we will come out with exactly what happened.”
